Mr. Thindwa is a versatile personality serving as a lecturer in political science and management studies. He holds a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Malawi (UNIMA), Masters in Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management in Netherlands and a Bachelors degree in Public Administration from UNIMA. He also holds a number of postgraduate certificates including certificates in Training Management from Aarhus Technical College in Denmark and Advanced Public Service Management from AF International in Sweden. He is an accredited World Customs Organisation (WCO) Integrity Trainer.
Years of alternate work engagements between academic and organization work settings have allowed him to blend theory with practice with relative ease. Prior to joining Chancellor College, he served for the Malawi Revenue Authority where he rose to the position of Director of Human Resources and Administration. He had served for the Staff Development Institute as a Chief Management Trainer and Consultant before joining MRA. Mr Thindwa’s first job was in the Office of the President and Cabinet serving as Assistant District Commissioner.
His area of expertise include Comparative Politics, African and Malawian Politics, International Political Economy, Public Sector Management, Human Resources Management and Strategic Management. His research interest lies in Politics of Identity, Political Parties, Electoral Systems, Strategic Management and the Politics of Public Sector Management.
